Technical Account Manager

CSA Travel Protection is a premiere provider of vacation rental property Travel Insurance in the United States.  In the role of Technical Account Manager, you serve as the primary point of contact with our vendor partners in the vacation property rental industry.  You will have responsibility for managing our relationship with software vendors and lodging providers to mutual benefit by ensuring trouble free product integration and ongoing account management.

Based in our San Diego office, the Technical Account Manager reports into the Sales organization and works very closely with internal teams from development, customer service, claims, accounting, and eCommerce (marketing) to identify and resolve technical and product integration issues.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of web technologies, specifically APIs and XML coding
  • Technical QA Experience is desirable
  • Proven track record of client advocacy and relationship building
  • Experience in the Vacation Rental Industry highly desired; ability to learn new things quickly required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate information and respond to inquiries
  • Excellent computer skills including fluency MS Office suite
  • Fluency in sales CRM (MS Dynamics) is desirable
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interpret product information and identify additional business opportunities within existing accounts
  • Capable of working efficiently both independently and within a team environment with changing priorities
  • Able to develop and maintain positive, constructive working relationships with others


  • Assist National Sales Manager in maintenance and development of existing and new relationships with the Vacation Rental Software accounts
  • Assist in new client implementations
  • Work with the software companies to effectively market CSA product offerings to partners
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned accounts and ensure that client information is accurate across the company
  • Help manage the online presentation of insurance within the VR software companies platform, booking engine, and websites
  • Accurately maintain all client interactions in the CRM
  • Travel to visit assigned accounts and trade shows a few times per year (less than 10% travel)
  • Influence client decisions by open dialogue and training tailored to the needs of the client and their current business environment
  • Analyze account sales results, detect trends and track results.  Communicate report and develop plan with National Sales Manager based on this analysis
  • Work to increase CSA Travel Protection’s market share within territory’s existing account base;
  • Effectively challenges the client to think strategically about solutions for their business challenges that result in additional product and services;
  • Sales calls on the phone and in-person will be required;
  • Obtains knowledge of competitor’s services/products and counters with enhanced products, processes or expert advice;
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of industry trends, activities, technical developments and global events that affect markets.
