Sr. Accountant

Job Summary: 

 

The Senior Accountant Reports to the Director of Finance/HR Administration and His/her main responsibilities are to perform accounting procedures as assigned. The Senior Accountant must have full knowledge of all responsibilities mentioned below; however specific tasks will be assigned by their supervisor.    

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

  • Responsible for coordinating with the Accountant to ensure that all daily and monthly entries are posted 

  • Responsible for coordinating with the Payroll Administrator to ensure that all monthly payroll and accruals have been posted and are reviewed 

  • Assist the Controller with monthly Bank Reconciliations in SAP 

  • Responsible for reviewing, creating and posting the month end recurring entries, as well as the monthly tax provision 

  • Responsible for the creation of the Month End Trial Balance 

  • Assist the Controller with the Month End Closings in SAP  

  • Responsible for the creation of the monthly internal financials and variance report 

  • Responsible for reporting the monthly Financials to EA Global through the SAP BW export tools 

  • Responsible for the Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations 

  • Assist the Controller with Quarter Fast Close Reporting to EA Global and Generali 

  • Coordination with EA Global or the EANA Controller on any queries they may have on GMMI 

  • Assists with Auditor Visits 

  • Uploads ODMASSE to SAP 

  • Actively participates in Team Projects and Cross-Training 

  • Ensures all data processing and financial reporting deadlines are met 

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and client specific protocols 

  • Actively supports client management with communicative support to clients on financial issues 

  • Performs all work in HIPAA compliant manner 

  • Supports all Departments with finance related tasks 

  • Supports other team member in the Finance Department 

  • Keeps Director of Finance/HR informed at all times on GMMI related issues 

  • Any other tasks as requested by Director of Finance & HR and/or Senior Management 

 

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills: 

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and professional staff 

  • Previous experience in accounting 

  • Problem solving skills 

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to present GMMI in a knowledgeable and professional manner 

  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Excel, Word and Outlook 

 

Education/Certifications: 

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required 

 

Physical Working Environment: 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit for long periods of time; use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; finger dexterity; talk; hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
